Timeline for New to Singapore Hiring

A lot of clients who are relocating to Singapore have questions and need guidance on the timeline required to hire. We recommend you plan for your helper to start a minimum of 2 weeks after your arrival. This is because:

  • Your EP needs to be issued first. You can't take the course and we can't apply until your EP has been issued and you have set up your SingPass.

    • Possibly if you have young children and both parents working, or only one parent working, we can apply for an exception to MOM to apply early. This isn't guaranteed, we can ask on your behalf though.

    • Possibly, if you have young children, we can request permission for you to take your course early before you get your SingPass. We can only request, it's not guaranteed.

  • You will need an address. You can have a helper in a serviced apartment, but you'll need to have a tenancy agreement that we can submit to MOM.

We handle a lot of clients who are new arrivals. Please ask us if you have any specific questions about how to start the process!
